Swiss Airtainer is pleased to announce the successful completion of its first 50 commercial shipments of high-value life science products. These shipments have demonstrated the performance, sustainability, and cost-efficiency of Swiss Airtainer’s RKN temperature-controlled containers in real-world operations and marks a significant achievement in the company’s mission to provide the pharmaceutical industry with sustainable and reliable cold chain logistics solutions.
The superior performance of the Swiss Airtainer RKN can be attributed to its advanced container design, which integrates the latest proven technologies across all key system areas. This custom-built SAT RKN offers a high payload capacity, the ability to operate reliably under extreme conditions, and the capacity to maintain payload temperatures for industry-leading durations. Additionally, it is by far the lightest RKN on the market, weighing only 390 kg compared to the competition’s 635 kg, representing a 40% weight reduction. This lighter weight makes it a more sustainable and cost-effective alternative.
The first 50 shipments transported temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals across challenging global trade routes, showcasing the container’s innovative features and exceptional performance:
- Flawless temperature control: The RKN container consistently maintained precise temperature settings within the temperature range of +2°C to +25°C throughout all shipments, ensuring the quality and integrity of sensitive pharmaceutical products.
- Sustainability meets cost efficiency: The RKN container’s design achieves a 40% weight reduction, cutting CO2 emissions by 45% and reducing fuel consumption and associated costs. The integrated solar panels provide energy autonomy and minimize reliance on external power sources, lowering the total cost of ownership (TCO).
- Built-in control tower: The container’s integrated control tower monitors key parameters such as temperature, humidity, and shock in real time. Automated alerts and a proactive management system ensure compliance with stringent pharmaceutical standards, reducing risks and costly disruptions.
“The successful completion of these initial 50 shipments demonstrates how innovation in cold chain logistics can deliver both environmental sustainability and economic benefits,” said Eduard Seligman, CEO of Swiss Airtainer. “With this solution, shippers can access cutting-edge technology that reduces carbon footprint and costs while improving operational efficiency. Swiss Airtainer’s proven success positions the company to scale its operations and expand its impact, setting a new standard for sustainable and cost-effective logistics solutions.”
