KODAK’s Security Solutions Group will attend the IQPC Anti-Counterfeiting for Pharma & Medical Devices seminar at The Chemical Heritage Foundation Conference Center in Philadelphia, Pa., May 31-June 2. Kodak’s participation includes a technology demonstration of its brand protection capabilities for pharmaceutical labeling, packaging and medical devices. Conference attendees include pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers, law enforcement officials, government agencies and industry organizations.
“Counterfeiting is a widespread problem that poses severe and complex implications for health professionals and patients,” said Dr. Myra T. Olm, Director, Brand Protection Research and Product Development, Security Solutions, Kodak’s Business Solutions and Services Group. “Kodak’s strategic portfolio of services, based on its expertise in materials science and imaging science, allows us to consult with our customers and deliver specialized countermeasures that strengthen multiple aspects of their packaging.”
The IQPC seminar will also include discussions on other programs and policies being implemented to equip brand owners and protect consumers against counterfeit and substandard pharmaceuticals and medicines. The World Health Organization estimates global sales of counterfeit and substandard medicines generates more than $32 billion each year. Kodak’s experts will be available to share best practices, tools and technologies available for building and implementing a comprehensive brand protection strategy.
“Pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers require an end-to-end approach to address the multiple layers of protection required to defend against counterfeiting,” said Roberto D. Colangelo, General Manager, Worldwide Services, Vice President, Kodak’s Business Solutions and Services Group. “At Kodak, we begin with a complete assessment that allows us to design, protect, monitor and enforce a comprehensive and highly-effective brand protection strategy.”
