Eagle Genomics, the Deep Tech platform business pioneering the application of network science to biology across the Food and Nutrition, Beauty and Personal Care, AgBio and Biopharma industries, announced three new senior appointments in the UK and India as the company’s global growth continues to accelerate at pace. This includes bioinformatics veteran Dr. Nandu Gattu as VP Services, Dr. Christian Roghi as Director of Microbiome Solutions, and Louise Groves as Director of Business Operations.
Joining Eagle Genomics’ rapidly growing Indian operations, Dr. Nandu Gattu has over 25 years’ experience in computational biology and data science. He spent his first 13+ years based in the US, working with global Pharma companies including Schering Plough, SmithKlineBeecham, and GSK, as well as providing computational biology support to drug discovery and development activities. Later, Nandu shifted his focus from R&D activities to the computational biology and data science services industry. He has established successful computational biology and bioinformatics service businesses and provided bespoke custom solutions to several global pharma companies.
Nandu has a Ph.D. in Neuropharmacology from the Medical College of Georgia, USA, a MS in Cardiovascular Pharmacology from the University of Montana, USA, and a Degree in Ayurvedic Medicine from Osmania University, India. With several scientific publications and 50+ patents to his name, Nandu was previously Adjunct Professor at Deakin University, Australia.
Dr. Christian Roghi, whose recent career has spanned the food and pharma science sectors, will help guide Eagle Genomics’ commercial focus on the microbiome. Christian was formerly Deputy Director for the Food Safety Centre in Norwich, UK, before becoming Head of Business Development for the Institute of Food Research and for the Quadram Institute, a world-leading institute creating new interfaces between food science, gut biology, and human health.
Subsequently, Christian joined the executive team at Scottish biopharma company EnteroBiotix to help it expand within the rapidly developing area of gut microbiome therapeutics. Most recently, Christian was Director of Strategic Alliances at CosmosID (USA), a contract research organization focused on next generation sequencing and bioinformatics.
Christian also has extensive experience in cancer research, after spending two decades deciphering key processes controlling tumor progression in French, German, US and UK laboratories. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed scientific publications. In addition to a MSc in Biochemistry and a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from the University of Rennes, France, Christian has an Executive MBA and a Diploma in Management Consultancy from Norwich Business School.
Louise Groves joins the team as Director, Business Operations as part of Strategy & Operations. Her 25-year career to date spans senior Informatics, Program Management, and Chief of Staff roles in global biopharma companies including Roche, GSK and Pfizer.
Louise brings significant experience in project, program and team leadership to the company – delivering across business, transformation and technology change in complex, global, cross-organizational and highly regulated environments.
