BioUtah today released the agenda for the 2013 Utah Life Science Summit Utah’s premier life science event which will be held all day November 6 at the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City Utah.
The 2013 Utah Life Science Summit is presented by BioUtah Utah’s official life science association which was launched at the 2012 Summit. BioUtah is the state’s exclusive independent industry association representing organizations focused on medical device diagnostics biotech pharma and healthcare.

The fourth annual Summit will feature four simultaneous tracks—Entrepreneurial Regulatory Strategic Pillars (mature companies) and State of the Sector. Every track consists of highly respected experts in their particular fields of endeavor. In addition all participants will attend three plenary sessions: a breakfast keynote session lunchtime awards ceremony and closing funding panel.
The breakfast keynote session will feature two prominent global life science leaders: medical device expert Peter Fitzgerald director of Stanford University’s Center for Cardiovascular Technology serial entrepreneur and venture partner of Latterell Ventures; and one of the nation’s most successful biotech investors Sofinnova Ventures general partner James Healy. Governor Gary Herbert will participate in the luncheon Awards session highlighted by the presentation of the fourth annual Willem J. Kolff Lifetime Achievement Award.
The Kolff Award recognizes extraordinary creativity innovation and service to humanity. Past recipients include engineering and robotics legend Stephen Jacobsen University of Utah Nobel Laureate Mario Capecchi and late medical informatics pioneer Homer Warner. Other Summit awards will honor public service on behalf of Utah’s life sciences community and outstanding performance from a team member to one’s organization.
On November 7 BioUtah is partnering with BioUtah sponsor MPR a leading national life science engineering services firm to present a special bootcamp for current and prospective life science entrepreneurs. The six-hour event will be free for participants of the Utah Life Science Summit.
Pricing and Sponsorship
The cost of the Utah Life Science Summit is $200 for BioUtah members academics non-profit and government employees; $275 for non-members; and $100 for students. In addition the Summit will feature 21 exhibitor booths showcasing innovative products and services available for $750 each. Exhibitor booths sold out for the 2012 Summit.
